Joey Ponce (He/Him)

Joey has practiced as a home and studio potter for just over 10 years, beginning with a class at the Fountain Square Clay Center. As his work has developed, his backgrounds in graphic design, illustration, and printmaking have guided the playful nature of his pieces. Inspired by continuous exploration, Joey likes to teach with experimentation and curiosity in mind. If there is an idea that students hope to explore, there is nearly always a way to work towards it while learning new skills along the way. Outside of his professional life, Joey lives as a neighbor to the Clay Center with his husband and their two pups. You can usually find him knee deep in whatever new or existing hobby he's preoccupied with at the time.
